On this blog post, I am giving you two ways to style a plaid skirt. Plaid is always a classic choice that can be worn in many different ways and for any season. The fashion industry is always coming out with new ways to wear plaid. With plaid hats, scarves, shoes, pants, coats, blazers, button up shirts, or the always timeless plaid skirt. I am always gravitating towards all things plaid.
A plaid skirt can be worn in so many ways and for any time of year. I decided to style this J.Crew skirt in a casual way and a more dressed up way. This skirt is the perfect winter hue of dark navy and green embedded with a winter white. I decided to first go with a very Irish inspired look with the soft cable knit sweater also from J.Crew. This combo is warm for winter and the perfect way to for me to feel closer to my heritage. Bringing me closer to my Irish roots makes this outfit even more special to me. I connect with this style on a deeper level and it has become my favorite outfit I have shared on my blog so far.
When I saw the cropped trench coat at Zara in the warm caramel tone I knew it would be a perfect fit for this outfit. The missing piece that ties the plaid colors together in a warm tone for winter. Plus the chunky sweater and light coat combo was perfect for strolling along on a warm winter’s day. There have been so many unseasonably warm days this year so its good to have outfits that you can layer light. I made the outfit perfect for my daily errands with my walkable boots from Timberland. They are great for walking around in all weather conditions because they are easy to clean and I don’t have to worry about ruining them if I walk through the snow.
I dressed up the skirt with what I consider one of my favorite pairs of going out boots. Tall boots with an A-line skirt always looks more grown up and a little more on the sexy side. But without revealing skin I make the outfit appropriate enough for church on a snowy morning with an emerald green turtleneck with adorable, feminine ruffle details on the shoulders. I am always trying to add more green to my wardrobe because it brings out the green in my eyes and is my favorite color that goes with my hair. Always going very Irish, as much I can.
I like feeling sexy, confident, comfortable and conservative all the time. My style and views can often be old fashioned. I always am pulling style inspiration from classy broads of distant decades. Visually soaking in their poise and charisma with clothing that is flattering but never overly revealing. This outfit is something I would wear for a day of shopping or for going out on the town with friends. An easy look that can be worn day or night.
